Today is a sad day...it is the end of Miss Conway's smiley coffee mug.  Please take a moment of silence in your day for this dedicated coffee mug.  It has seen me through almost five years of coffee and three moves.  I guess Alaska was just too much for it.

Yay Summer Opportunities

Very productive today!  Got a whole bunch of kids into looking summer camp opportunities and got them posted on my website...Good teacher moment :)

Finding Surface Area and Volume of Classroom Objects

Super fun last minute idea for math today!  I had students find cylinders and rectangular prisms around the room and find their surface area and volumes.  Took exactly what we were learning in the chapter and applied it to reality.  I LOVE MATH!!!

Connecting with New People

My seventh graders got to skype with my nephew's 7th grade class today, so cool!  We are going to have a friendly competition in the up coming weeks :D

Fun Quote for the Week

During British Literature today, everyone was doing their normal mumbling and grumbling: "This class makes me want to...." and "This class makes me...".  But my favorite one by far was from one of my seniors...

"This class makes me want to marry a British man!"

Yeah Pasta Night!!

Testing week offers a lot of down time for teachers...so I decided to make an awesome batch of pasta sauce for everyone!  This fun night turned into a card fight, 4 decks of cards got thrown across the room...Kim had to protect the baby :P
